I can never change!

Vihaan Roy

"Redo the designs!" I yelled at one of the interns.

She quickly gathered everything and left.

I ran a hand frustratedly in my hair.

Everything is a mess!

"Vihaan. This is not done. This is the 15th design you have rejected." Niya said entering my cabin while glaring at me.

"I don't care! It was not up to the mark. And intern seriously? You think a unexperienced intern can get a good design for the magzine cover?" I asked looking at her rolling my eyes.

She came and held my shoulder saying,

"Vihaan you need to stop stressing so much about work. Now, I will be going on a leave. Are you going to manage all the projects alone?" She asked and I just sighed.

"I though you said you have a replacement." I said and with a wide smile she sat before me.

"That I have, but befor— she started but she was cut off when Raj entered my cabin.

"Hello people. I am here to pick niya. Akshit has strictly instructed me to drop her home safely as early as possible." He said plopping on one of the chairs and Niya just blushed.

These two can never get enough of each other.

"We'll leave after this." Niya said to Raj and then turned towards me.

"Yeah where was I? I wanted to ask you about Navya." She said and I froze.

Navya.

"Do you know about her whereabouts?" She asked and I looked at her narrowing my eyes.

"You're asking as if you don't meet her every alternate day." I said still narrowing my eyes at her.

"Well, let me get to the point. In these 6 months did you ever feel like you miss her or you want her back?" She asked looking at me curiously.

I sighed.

I miss her everyday.

"If there is anything that I have realised in these 6 months is that, I don't deserve her. Doesn't matter if I miss her or not. The only thing that matters is she can do better than me." I said leaning my head back on my chair's headrest.

"You can't be serious right now!" Raj yelled at me.

"Staying away is the best thing for us. I never did right things anyways for once I've decided on doing something right, let me do it." I said glaring at him.

"Vihaan...you're being irrational now. If you think you want her, If you empty without her just make a move dude." Raj said.

I just chuckled and said,

"To make a move first, I need to be a better person. I will have to work on me which I'm not willing to."

"So, in these 6 months you've come to the conclusion that you can see her going away? You can see her with someone else?" Niya asked.

Honestly, I was never okay with her going away.

"I was toxic at some point, Niya. I've accepted it. And I don't appreciate her being in a toxic relationship, again." I said opening my laptop and starting my work.

Don't think too much!

You are not worth her.

"Okay, so this will be great then. You shouldn't have any problem with my replacement." Niya said rubbing her palms excitedly.

"Don't tell me you are going to do it?" Raj said getting excited.

"Hell yess!" She said smiling and I just sat there confused.

"As you said you won't approach Navya. So, It won't be a problem if she would be my replacement right? She would work here without any of her past coming in between." Navya said smirking and I looked at her with a horrific expression.

"She would never agree to this. She hates me with all her guts!" I said when my heart was actually dancing by knowing the fact that I would get to see her after soo long.

"There is one thing she absolutely loves and that are her dreams. She wants to work for the mega fashion show this year. But her company refuses to take part. She is going to switch her job anyway. So, why not this?" Niya said smiling.

"If she gets selected in some other company which I am sure she will get, she would never agree for this." I said confidently.

"Then you don't know Navya at all! If she is the loving, caring, sweet girl then she is also the head strong Navya Agnihotri who would go to any extent to prove her worth. And she knows that nothing is better than Roy's." She said.

"What if her work is not up to the mark? I can't risk the mega fashion show." I said and Niya just laughed.

"She's good at everything she does. You will see it with your own eyes. I give you the full right to test her." She said smirking knowing exactly what is cooking up in her head.

"If you think, this will bring us together. Then stop dreaming." I said shaking my head.

As if you don't want to be together!

"We'll see. I'll be on leave for a whole year. Things can change." She said wiggling her eyebrows and then left whisting.

I was going through another set of designs made for the model to be featured on magzine's cover. And they were all plain.

There is this fashion magzine who has contract with us. We need to design dress for the model on the cover page of the magzine.

The designs were good but nothing caught my eye. Nothing which I could just see and get mesmerised. We needed something that could attract attention and none of this was doing it.

Frustrated, I just threw all designs things on my table. And then there was a knock on my door.

"Come in." I said irritated and Ranvir walked in.

I rolled my eyes and focused back on my laptop. But, I missed someone else who walked in with him.

"Sir— he started and he was talking about something but I couldn't hear him because I looked forwards and I saw the one her entering the cabin.

She wore a black blouse and black trousers with a creme couloured handbag.

Was she always this beautiful? Or is it that I noticed it today.

I was brought out of my la la land when she cleared her throat.

Shit!

I was gawking at her.

Soo embarrassing!

"Good morning, Mr. Roy." She said in a professional tone.

Control your damn emotions, Roy!

"Good morning, Navya. Have a seat." I said gesturing towards the chair across me and she eyed all the designs that were scattered.

"Ms.Agnihotri, sir." She said taking the seat opposite to mine.

"Huh?" I asked raising my brows.

"I would prefer Ms.Agnihotri." She said with a blank face giving away no expressions.

Here my heart beat is going all crazy after seeing her and she has no effect?

"As you know, we will have to start the preparations for the mega fashion event in 2 weeks or so. In this time get familiar with the premises and I want you to work on a project." I said and she just nodded.

I handed her a file which had all the information about the fashion magazine and what were their expectations with the front cover, their theme and everything.

"This has all the information. You can study this for today and I want you to start on the designs from tomorrow." I said and she nodded again.

"But, there's a catch." I said.

I was ofcourse going to test her.

"You're deadline is day after tomorrow's." I said and she looked at me wide eyed.

"We've already wasted a lot of time and I want it to be quick. The design should be on my table on Wednesday morning and today is monday." I said smirking.

She quickly hid her shocked face and smirked back.

"Thank you for the opportunity Mr. Roy. I'll make sure I won't let you down." She said and left my cabin.

I just watched her leaving with my palms behind my head.

Finally some colours into my bland life!

I am going to enjoy this.
