Rebirth

On a sunny day, the sun was about to disappear from the sky and soak into the ocean, which filled the mountain view with a light orange colour.

A charming girl, having an oval-like face shape, long silky hair, and small rosy lips, smiled lovely at the person whose hand was held by her and pulled towards the mountain edge, which was too high from sea level.

A young man with a handsome, childlike face became happy after seeing that mountain view. That hanbok-wearing guy passed them, moving closer to the side of the mountain edge as his excited feet crossed the blue-coloured invisible line on the grassland. That line had been drawn horizontally from the side edge of the mountain to another side edge.

"Brother, the view is so amazing!"

That young guy wondered, turning towards the other young man who had the most handsome, loving eye towards that guy while the hanbok-wearing woman pulled him towards that mountain edge with him.

He had a fit body with enough height to suit the woman, who was smiling broadly at him.

She dropped her hand as she crossed the invisible blue line.

His feet halted without crossing the invisible blue line, and his lovely gaze was admiring her smile, which showed a lot of love for him.

Her fair-skinned hand held his hand as the cold wind swayed their hair.

"Do you remember the line that I have drawn for you?"

She asked as her eye met his, her feet striking the invisible blue line using her worn white hanbok shoes.

He rolled down his pupils at the line that was visible to his eyes as his innocent, admiring smile dimmed gradually.

She was standing on that side of the line, her body facing him straight opposite.

Her charming smile gradually disappeared as her head faced downward, while the sun fully disappeared, leaving a little dim orange brightness on the mountain.

"Don't! This is dangerous!" He warned her with a caring tone while straightening his face towards hers.

His conscious realised that something was wrong with her again. His face was frightened. He tightened his hold on her hand and nervously pronounced her name, "Eun-Sook?"

She lifted her face and smiled at him with the same charm.

Only after that did he exhale relaxingly and smile back at her.

She pulled her hand back from his hold forcefully and feasted on his eyes. "I like your concerned face," she crooned as she admired his worry over her.

He kept brooding at her while his brother Jowon was enjoying the dimming sky by standing near the edge of the mountain.

And when his gaze shifted to Jowon for a second, Eun-Sook dropped her head again as the chill vapour came from her eyes. A dark voice of hers said, "You can't come closer now!"

His shocked gaze shifted immediately, and he instructed his brother to keep his eyes on her: "Jowon, Come to my side!"

Jowon turned to their side and stepped casually towards his brother, as his confused stare was on Eun-Sook.

He raged at Jowon, who was taking steps suspiciously as his stare tried to understand the situation, raised his voice a little, biting his anxiety teeth, and said, "Come fast, fool!"

Jowon ran fast from there as soon as his brother's rage scared him.

But before he reached the blue line, Eun-sook's foot tapped his knee. So he fell on his knee, and his upper body slammed into the grassland as his brother's fluttered voice shouted, "Jowon!"

Her hand aggressively grabbed his hair and took out a knife from her hanbok dress as the chill vapours kept coming from her furious face, which raged at Jowon's brother.

Her threatening voice intimidated him: "Watch them die in front of your eyes. He will be killed by me, and your love, Eun-Sook, will kill herself in guilt."

"Don't!" His scared, worried face warned once as Jowon wailed, "Broth-."

She drew the line with the knife shortly before Jowon called him fully, and her satisfying eyes scornfully smiled at her lover, who bellowed his fear in his voice by shouting, "Jowon!"

He agonised, lowered his shoulder, and kneeled as he couldn't do anything but watch him die with tears in his eyes.

Then, Eun-sook's body soul bounced front and back like the chill vapour went away from her body.

Her neutral gaze slowly transformed, like she was realising that she had done something wrong, as the wind blew her hair back. So she felt her heartbeat raising and her trembling pupils moving from him to the place where he was keened.

Her body shuddered as soon as she saw Jowon's dead body fall in front of her foot.

Her quick-witted senses sensed that the knife was in her hand. That trembling finger dropped the bloody knife, and her frightened, trembling body moved back gradually as she took each step with guilt on her face.

Her lover's fretted gaze noticed Eun-Sook stepping back towards the edge of the mountain. His scared face saw her guilty eyes brooding over him.

He called her, as the fear made him gulp once, "Eun-sook, come to me."

He stood up quickly and wiped his tears as he realised that she didn't listen to him but only kept stepping backwards and facing him, snivelling.

"Jowangbul," her quilty voice pronounced "I have told you so many times that I'm acting weirdly. But you didn't consider that even once; now it led me here." Her sobbing voice complained.

He explained with a crying voice, "That's not you, Eun-sook."

He snivelled and lamented with worried eyes, seeing her moving backwards, "Don't step back! Please come to me, Eu-sook."

She stepped back, refused him, and lamented as her tearing, lovely eyes longingly brooded at him. "No, if I stay with you, I'll kill you too."

"Please, Eun-Sook. I can't live without you, please," he pleaded as much as he could, and his feared gaze kept an eye on her foot moving back.

That foot had reached the tip of the edge and halted moving back.

He looked up at her. He stuck his palms together like he was praying and begging her, "I want to live with you, Eun-sook. Please come to me. I'm not angry at you for this." He mentioned his brother's death with tears in his eyes.

"Please, come to me!" He cried hard as the tears wet his eyes more.

Eu-sook couldn't resist his sadness, and she cried over him and said, "I want to wipe off your tears, Jowang. But I can't!"

"No!" He begged her to stay there without crossing the blue line.

"I love you, Jowang." Her sobbing voice crooned, and her body fell from the mountain as she stepped backward.

"Eun-sook!"

He moved forward, but the invisible line acted as a shield and threw him back away on the grassland while the sky became dark and brightened a little with the half-moon's light.

She fell on the seawater as her last tear fell on the sea waves.

He sat up from the ground and sat on his knees, facing the mountain edge as if he had lost everything.

He couldn't hold back his tears. He panted continuously as the fury exploded from her eyes like fire, and his body slowly started to emit the yellow fire. His firing gaze looked at the place where Eu-sook had stood before falling.

His face faced up to the dark sky, and he cried out her name aloud with the fire-emitting body, "Eun-Sooka!!!"

His longing voice echoed through the sky. Because of his fire-emitting body, that place earned yellow luminance.

[1000 years later]

In the modern city, The whole South Korean country was soaked from heavy rain, and thunder and lightning threatened the South Korean city scarily.

A woman's screams could be heard inside the room as she struggled to give birth to a baby girl, and her husband anxiously waited outside.

At the riverside,

At the same time, a loud, strong thunder struck the river, and the male baby's body came out of the water.

A wonder-looking woman, who had been in a red angel dress with an amazing red Irish accent, carried that baby in her warm hand. Her rosy, soft, small lips smiled and said this while looking at the innocent baby boy's face.

"You deserve her!"

In the hospital,

The rainy day was filled with the female baby's cries. Even though that looks normal, the nurse was shocked to see that the baby's body couldn't even tolerate cold weather.

The baby started to freeze.

So all of them hurried and tried hard to heat the baby's body by rubbing her tiny, rosy paw and palm.

Nothing worked.

The baby started to lose her breath gradually.

So, they wrapped the baby's body with a warm cloth, made room for the baby at a high temperature, and waited for the result as the heavy rain kept participating outside.

A few minutes later, the baby started to cry normally.

Only then, after hearing the baby's normal loud cry, did her father, nurse, and doctors relax their shoulders.
