CHAPTER 5: A ROAD NOT TAKEN

Realizing that I was in her room, and she was stark naked, she desperately groped around, looking for the towel to cover herself. But I stopped her. “Sir, you shouldn’t be here.” She spoke covering her both breasts with her palms. “Says who?” I asked. “ this house here, belongs to me. So, I can be anywhere I want to be in this house.” “But, Sir, I am naked.” “I know and that was why I came here. I want us to have sex. Now, open it and let me climb.” I ordered. “Just like that? Sir, please. Don’t do this. I am your guest.” “I know that but remember that you are living in my house. So, you have to do everything to please me. Now, let’s get to work.” “Sir, how about your fiancée?” She asked. “My friend, don’t get me annoyed. Which one is my fiancée? Besides, have I not warned you against calling me Sir? My name is John.” “Okay, Sir. My daughter is here. Let’s at least go somewhere else.” She finally conceded. I agreed to her proposal though I was very impatient. She got up from the bed still naked and walked to my room. I walked slowly behind her, my eyes never leaving her buttocks. When we got to my bedroom, she laid on the bed and spread her legs. I climbed on her and had sex with her. However, I did everything alone. She just laid there like a log of wood. She didn’t show any emotion until I finished. Immediately I finished, I got up from her, laid beside her and fell asleep. For fear of not annoying me, she didn’t go back to the guest room. She spent the night in my room. When I got up in the morning, I was surprised to see her naked in my bed. My senses had come back because I was feeling quite sobber now. I looked at her in shock, and tapped her on her shoulder and asked her what she was doing in my bedroom and on my bed. “Sir, you invited me here last night.” She replied mildly. “My friend, I have warned you not to call me that. By the way, who invited you here? Me? Invited you to my bedroom?” I couldn’t believe what she was saying. “Sir, I mean John, you did.” “My friend, shut up. How can that possible? Did we have sex?” I asked, afraid of the response. “Yes, John.” “Oh my gosh!! How did that happen? You seduced me, right? You took advantage of me because I was drunk. That has been your plan all along, right?” “No, you were the one who asked us to do it.” “And you couldn’t say no? You couldn’t deny?” I shouted. “I tried, but you insisted. I didn’t want to annoy you. So, I gave in.” “But you have ended up doing the same very thing you avoided doing. You have still annoyed me. Anyway, I will deal will that later. Carry yourself out of my bedroom.” She ran out of my bedroom in a hurry and back to the guest room. After she had gone, I sat on my bed and contemplated. What had I done? I had slept with a complete stranger that was under my care, all thanks to alcohol. How could I do a thing like that. That was going to complicate my life. I wanted her gone as soon as possible. In fact, I wanted her gone like yesterday. But now, I had slept with her. Would sending her away be that easy like I had anticipated? It was always different once two people have had sex. After I had freshened up and dressed for work, I went to the living room and called her roughly. “Jane! Jane!!” I called. “Yes, John.” “I am going to work now. Take care of my house. I will be back by four.” “Sir, there is no food in the house.” She calmly reminded me. “So, what should I do?” I asked rudely. “If it was only me, I could manage. But Chloe, she is just a small child. She can’t resist hunger.” I pulled a clean fifty dollars note from my wallet and threw it on her body. “Use that to get something for the child and keep my change oh. Keep my change, I repeat. I don’t want to hear stories. And just a reminder, your third day expires tomorrow. So, start getting ready to leave.” “I have heard you.” I got into my car and drove to work. On my way, I kept thinking to myself. What was I even thinking taking Jane and her daughter to my house. Now, I had inadvertently slept with her. I hated her so much now and wanted her to go. If not for her daughter, I would have thrown her out that very morning. What if Sandra found out? That would mean the end of our relationship. No, I couldn’t allow that happen. I had to send Jane parking before Sandra got back from the village. I loved and cherished her too much to lose her. As soon as I walked into my office, I pulled out my phone from my pocket and dialed Sandra’s number. “Hello, baby.” “Hello, Sandra, my love. How are you today, and how is the village?” “I am good, baby. But I didn’t go to the village again.” “You didn’t? What happened?” I asked, my heart beating fast. “I got a call late last night that the function has been cancelled and postponed. So, I couldn’t go anymore.” She explained. “Okay, so, why are you not at work?” “I had already obtained permission. I took two days. However, since I didn’t go on the trip again, I will just be absent for one day. Tomorrow, I will be at work.” “Okay, where are you now?” “I am at the market. I went to buy some foodstuffs to go home and cook for you. I wanted it to be a surprise, but since you have called, let me just let the cat out of the bag.” She laughed but I didn’t find it funny. I didn’t find it funny at all. “But you should have told me, baby.” I spoke, my voice was trembling. “What is wrong with you, baby? I said I wanted it to be a surprise, are you not hearing? Besides, I have my own key, don’t I? Actually, I am done shopping now. I am on my way home already.” She spoke and the call ended. She was on her way home already, my home. Jane and her daughter were in my house and Sandra was going to my house to cook for me. Oh no!! I was finished.
