Sheila's POV:
I have so many dreams about my college life before I entered this campus. I even believed I would find my best man here but all my dreams turned upside down. Now all I want is to come out of this hell without any harm.
Sighing heavily I thought to cross the road when all of the sudden--
"What the hell!!!"
I shrieked looking at the red car which has gone far away not even bothered to check whether I died or still has my breath. I could hear the hefty pounding of my heartbeat.
"Idiot fellows," I muttered directing my words towards whoever was on that car.
Peoples are staring me as some are wearing a concerned look on their face while some just ignored the incident as nothing happened earlier before they headed back to their work.
I would have nearly met the accident!
When I was about to cross the road, a car loomed towards me and I froze on the spot like a statue when I thought it would hit me anytime but thank God it lightly brushed my right arm but the pain was unbearable.
I pretended like nothing happened before started to walk inside the campus where the hell is waiting for me. I don't know whatever drama is going to happen today.
I let out a long sigh before entering inside the campus. Unlike this time I don't have a broken heart but the broken arm. Though it's not broken it causes a little pain.
When I was about to take a step towards the stairs I heard some whisper from the girls and saw they were adjusting their skirt like they are going to impress someone.
They focused on someone behind my back which made me turn around and I saw the boy is walking towards the stairs, completely ignoring the girls who were drooling over him.
He walked past me and got on the principal room. He seems a new student. His face expression was hard and blank.
What got into this boy?
First two hours had gone blank and I relaxed when I heard the bell ringing. I can leave and grab some sandwich to quench my small hunger. With that, I headed towards the cafeteria.
While I was sitting in the cafeteria, a girl, who I don't know, approached me. "Hi!" she uttered before stretching her hands towards me.
"Ugh...! Umm... Hello! how can I help you?" I asked politely not wanting to behave rudely.
She scratched the back of her neck nervously and said: "I am new to this college. I saw you were sitting alone here. So I..." She trailed off.
"Ohhhh! Okay," I mumbled. If she had known my history with the president's son she wouldn't have shown her face in front of me.
"I am sorry." She blurted out while fidgeting her fingers. For a good second, I just stared at her not getting the point of why is she apologising.
"Why?" I asked her, confusion was composed all over my face. From my remembrance, she didn't do anything to me and it's my first time I'm seeing her today. Not knowing who she is I just continued my blank stare towards her.
"Hmm.. actually my cousin drove that car in the morning. He didn't see you were crossing the road." She murmured slowly.
Like a thunder, realisation hit my head. So, the car which almost stimulated an accident is belonging to them. You bloody! I badly wanted to put some sense into her thick skull but when I looked at her pleading eyes, my anger flew away.
It's beautiful...
She has light green eyes and brown coloured lengthy eyebrows. She has brown wavy hair which matches with her eyebrows. She was wearing skinny black jeans and a pink top which made her look beautiful.
Of course! Pink is every girl's favourite colour.
"Ahh... okay! it's not a problem," I assured her.
"Did anything happen to you?" she asked worriedly.
"No, I'm fine." I lied. The pain in my hand is unbearable but I didn't tell her. If I tell her she would feel pity. And I don't want any pity from anyone. I had enough of pity!
"My name is Quinn," she chattered.
"hmm... Sheila?" I almost questioned.
"Nice name." She has a perfect tooth also. Her smile is pretty.
"You too." I smiled back.
"Well... I have to go. See you later. Once again I'm sorry." she said and turned her heels to walk away.
She seems so friendly. She is the first girl who approached me and asked apology for her cousin's mistake. How far it will last? Hmm-- until the issue comes in the concern of that devil. Dangerous!! I shook my head and started to think about Tammy.
Well...where is Tammy? I didn't see him today. What happened on yesterday is not a matter to me; he is still my good friend. He called me many times but I refused to talk with him. Though It's not his entire fault, I need some space to relax.
---
The bell rang indicating it is our PE period. Most of the students went to the ground and some of them went God knows where. Today is Monday that means it's also Tammy's free period.
Where is he? Perhaps he might have gone there so I went to the cafeteria hoping to find him. As expected, he was sitting alone, his head bowed between his hand.
I took a seat in front of him. But he didn't notice my present so I coughed lightly to gain his attention. When he looked at me my eyes widen in surprise.
He has a large bruise on his face around his eyes.
"What happened, Tammy?" I asked nervously. I know him very well. He is not the type of person who involves any kinds of violent activities.
"Nothing. I just-- just fell down in the bathroom." He mumbled.
Is that? why did I'm not convinced by his answer? "I know something happened so just spit the truth," I summoned with my fury voice.
But he shook his head "It's not a big deal, Sheila. Just leave it." He is not interested to share his grief with me. Am I not worth it?
"How comes it's not a big deal, Tammy?" Said a voice behind me that literally sent a shiver down to my spine. Slowly, I glanced him with wide eyes.
As usual, he smirked before shoving his hands into his pant pocket meanwhile I silently sat there; No one uttered any words. A drop of tears threatened to come out but I controlled myself. Of course, they might have engaged with a heavy fight.
'And he would have won that.' My subconscious added painfully.
"Why?" I asked slowly after a long time of silence.
"Because I don't like the idea of anyone is hooking with you. You are my doll and you belong to me," he said proudly. "And I have full rights over you." He said the last part glaring at his cousin.
"Listen well." He turned dead serious. "If anyone had gone against my will they would have faced the worst time more than him. Fortunately, he is my cousin" With that being said, he grabbed my hand roughly.
A loud scream escaped my mouth even after I tried my best not to shriek when he grabbed my right hand which is already hurting like a bitch.
He seemed to notice my pained articulation and smirked. "Oh! My poor doll broke her arm." He cooed. How heartless he is! For him, it is total fun. He didn't realise how it is hurting me. Why can't he understand I'm also a human being? Long tears started to running down through my cheeks.
Not getting enough satisfaction, he then twisted my hand roughly making me scream loudly. A satisfied smirk grew onto his face before he let go of my hand.
Suddenly, out of the blue, a girl's voice echoed through the cafeteria, "What the hell are you doing? Can't you see she has already a broken arm?" She questioned directly looking at this demon.
Oh God! What is she doing! She might get trouble. Please run away!
He took a dangerous step towards her and raised his hand to grab her by her throat but-- his hand didn't reach the line of her skin as someone's hand stopped him in the midst.
"Take one more step, you will regret the day you were born." He threatened; his voice was fury as Karl. He seemed to be a new guy, I think. This is a third guy who I am assuming was a new student.
"Or what will you do?" Karl challenged and tried to take a step forward but he fell down with his butt off.
Whoa!
I looked between them with wide eyes. What the...
In the lightening speed, he stood up and clenched his jaw. "You fucking idiot." He fisted his hand and charged towards him. When they were about to start a fight, a sudden voice stopped them in their track.
The principal came out of nowhere and stood beside them. "Suspense him." He ordered as his usual tone. But I didn't expect a miracle out here.
Instead of doing what he declared, he looked both of them and said, "Meet me in the office." With his calm tone. Wow! The grey hair man finally got his guts. It is the first time he is taking his own decisions not bothering to follow this demon's order.
They two went along with the principal and Quinn approached me. "Are you okay?" she asked worriedly. Her voice is full of concerns.
"Yeah." I nodded my head. "What happened? Why is he behaving like this to you? Is anything wrong between you guys?" She inquired.
"No... Nothing." I simply explained.
"Ohhhh.. okay. Does it still hurt?" She asked raising her perfect brown eyebrows. I didn't say anything because it is actually hurting like a bitch.
She took the answer from my silence and dragged me to the medical room. "Why are you doing this?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Because it's our fault. If he hadn't hit you in the morning you wouldn't have got a broken arm. And the moron wouldn't have taken advantages over your situation. Look how reddish your hand is." With that, like a professional doctor, she examined my arm.
"Well, your cousin did a wrong move. He might get expelled from the college. You don't know him, he is arrogant." I stated the truth.
But to my surprise, she just looked at me full of amusement. No hint of anxiety present in her eyes.
"What?" I implored impatiently.
"No one is going to do anything. Trust me. He may be used to bully you. But it won't happen again." She assured me.
"How you know he used to bully me," I raised a question. She smiled slightly then said, "Just now you confirmed it. Don't worry you don't need to afraid of him anymore." She patted my shoulder.
"No, you don't know him. He hit his own cousin just for he helped me. He is so ruthless and heartless. You may get hurt because of me. I don't want anyone to get hurt." I muttered slowly.
"No." She shook her head and said, "You will see. After all, you are the first friend I earn here." Her confidence was like Mount Everest.
I gave her a small smile and said, "Your cousin is caring for you a lot."
First, she gave me a confusing look before implying "He is not my cousin, he is my boyfriend." She chuckled.
"Oops!! I'm sorry." I apologized.
"Hey, there is no need to apologise. Yeah! he is so sweet but sometimes more annoying too." She giggled.
"But I don't know why did the principal ask them to meet him in his room. Actually, he did whatever he said before, but now things changed." I started to bite my fingernail.
"Don't think too much you will learn soon or later." I nodded my head as a comprehension although this girl standing beside seems a complete puzzle.
"Okay bye! My class is going to start. I wanted to go." I excused myself and started to walk towards my class without noticing who is coming right behind me.
When I felt the shadow was hitting my figure, I glanced at the person and realised it was Tammy who had a frown on his face.
"Tammy, what happened?" I asked.
"I am sorry, Sheila. I failed to protect you. It's all my fault." He said with a painful expression.
"Shhh... It's not your fault. So don't bother yourself. And the thing is not going to change. You are still my good friend." Like a thousand watts bulb, His face lit up with happiness. He grinned at me showing his perfect white teeth.
"Yeah! I hope so." His grin lingered on his face.
"Well.. see you later." I gave him a side hug before walking further while having lots of questions and confusion of who they actually are. Somehow deep down I have a feeling that things are going to change.
