Fireflies

They said, Fireflies will lead you the way, but why does it takes Nasha out of the way. She is married to Spade Flativille the notorious bad boy of Benchwood, The bad boy who only cares for himself and his pleasures. And treated everyone around her like mannequin that never exists in real life, And Nasha is included in that list. Being with him for four years as a married couple is already a torture and a destroyer of dreams. Because the moment she said ' I do' in front of the priest and exchange her vows with that cold blooded monster, Nasha sacrificed her dream of becoming a painter. “ Where are you going?” Nasha shouted when she saw Spade all dressed-up.“ it’s none of your business. Just make sure I have something to eat when I return.” Spade said and ignored her. And he went out of the house without saying goodbye nor kissing her forehead even as a sign of respect. And that’s one of Nasha's reason why she slowly and deliberately hated him but she had to stay for the sake of her father. Mr. Guanzon had signed a contract with Spade for a loan, but he wasn’t able to pay it accordingly the reason why she become the payment. And to avoid embarrassment ,she followed with the flow. And now she’s stuck. She’s stuck with the person who doesn’t seem to. Have a heart. She sighed.

“ Miss Nasha your bath is ready.” The maid suddenly appeared in front of her without her noticing the maids coming. She was so occupied with so many things and she didn’t know what to do anymore.

“ Thank you Mia.” Nasha smiled and went to her room where her bath has been prepared . Nasha’ heaved a sighed again. She was dressed in luxury and sleeping in an almost-royal life but none of it can comfort what she felt right now. She’s human and she got tired too. And she didn’t know until when she would stay humble. If only Spade is a bit nicer, then maybe she would fall in love with him, but unfortunately he is not. She take off her expensive clothes and went down to her bath tub naked and relax. It’s been four years and its only once when something happened to them, and they didn’t even sleep in one room. But it’s better at least when everything is done, she can at least endure the pain that soon she would feel when Spade decide to let her go. She was distracted with a phone call, she looked for her phone and reach for it to answer.

“ Hello, papa.”

“ How was my Nasha?” Her father asked.

“ I, I am fine. Wow. It’s been a while since your last call how are you?” Nasha tried to act more energetic and happy.

“ sorry dear, I am in Africa now. Mr. Duncan your Husband’s trusted Adviser, invited me to be his side kick.” Her father said .

“ Papa, your Lying again. Mr. Duncan is here earlier, and he went back to his office already to finished some paperworks. where are you really?” Nasha rolled her eyes.

“ sorry dear, I am in the casino"

“ Papa! Go home already you know how many loan sharks had tried to harm you just because of that addiction of yours in gambling. Can you change a bit? "

Nasha stressed out. She can’t believe that her father is still one and the same. And even how many chances given to him, he is still addicted in in gambling.

“ Papa, you sell your car before just for that, you even make me as a payment to a loan you can’t pay. Now what? “ Nasha asked softly but her father seems to get mad.

“ oh come on Nasha.”

“ please papa, go home . your making our life more difficult. ” Nasha said sadly and ended the call. She massage her forehead and decided to went out of her bath . she dried herself and pulled a pair of Mickey mouse t-shirt and short.Then she put the towel in her hair to make it dry a bit before she blow dry it. She looked in the mirror and sighed again. She is a firefly that lost its light the moment her father offered her to Spade, She also lost the just to find her truelove. But because Marriage is sacred for her, Nasha’ tried her best to be faithful and a loyal wife to him. And she also tried to protect their marriage in a way she knew.Even though Spade is indifferent at times, Still Nasha’ tried to just stay silent and accept the fact that they are not normal couples. They are not normal couple who would dare at weekends ,sleep in the same room, planned together for their future or even talked to each other sweetly. Because they are the perfect opposite of what a couple should look like.

“ Mia,”

“ Yes Miss Nasha” The maid answered. Her personal maid Mia knew about her relationship with the young master that’s why instead of Mrs. Nasha, she just addressed her with Miss. And though she pity the young Miss, Mia kept silent and just tried to give her comfort in a way she know.

“ Do you want to go with me? Spade leave a check in the table earlier so I could have a shopping spree.” Nasha smiled and Mia sighed.Looking at the young miss ,she could say that she’s perfectly pampered with material things but not when it comes to love.She cleared her throat to answer Nasha.“ Sure Miss.” Mia said and smiled. And Nasha and Mia went shopping for the

whole day. And because she already have everything, so she decided to bought many stuff for her trusted maid.

“ This is too many.” Mia said shyly and scratch her head .

“ I can’t think of another solution to spend this money. So I guess this is the best way.” Nasha said and smiled to her maid and the maid smiled shyly.After the shopping spree, the two returned home and Nasha went to her room to change her clothes. And when it’s night time, but Spade is still out of sight, Nasha decided to wait for him in the Sala. She waited until the clock strikes midnight. “ Goodness sake. Did he meet an accident that he wasn’t able to come home?” She thought, and before she could get her phone out of the pocket to call him, the main door opened and the man in a black suit emerged. As usual he is in his cold face, which is no trace of smile.“ good evening. Have you eaten already?” Nasha asked.

“ I’m not, I’ll just change my clothes and eat. Go prepare something for me.” He said and shrugged before going upstairs to his room. Nasha moved and prepared midnight dinner for him. He reheat the chicken and fish and put it in the table with the rice . since , Spade is not picky when it comes to food, Nasha prepare three more dishes for him . One big Fried Squid , a Squash in a coconut milk, and a chicken macaroni for dessert.And just as soon as she finished preparing the table, Spade suddenly appears and sit on the opposite chair. Without words, he took some food in his plate and eat. Nasha just played with her tongue, she already expected Spade to act like that as if she didn’t exist. And she knew that it is not a big deal anymore but she still got hurt. Nasha looked around and decided to go back on her room. She knew Spade never like the idea of marrying her ,but when her grandfather asked him to find someone to marry so that He will get the seventy- billion inheritance from him. Spade instantly decided and brought Nasha to the Mayor’s office for a civil wedding. Now ,her father is paid with all the debt, and Spade is already

secured in having the inheritance when the right time comes.

“ But until when we stayed like this? Is it really impossible for him to fall in love with me? Can’t we really make our married life better?” Nasha asked. She had been educated by her late grandparents and late mom that Marriage is sacred no matter what the circumstances. And now, she had this kind of Circumstances that she didn’t know if she could survive. She accept the fact that being married to Spade made her fall for him , but that doesn’t changed the fact that she is suffering from their abnormal married life. Because it’s not

the kind of life she had prayed for and asked for. It should be like a fairytale￾story she once read in a children’s books. Where a prince fall in love with a princess or the pauper and live happily ever after. But for her, she didn’t know whether she would be able to have her very own happily ever after.She was about to sleep when someone knock on the door, But because she was

lazy . she just lay there and ordered that someone to come in. since her door is not locked.

“ Your sleepy already?” a familiar voice asked , and automatically ,Nasha went up.

“ Oh Spade, is there something you need?” She asked back and fixed herself.

“ Grandpa ,wants to invite us tomorrow for a tea party with him. I don’t want to go but that old man can be so annoying when being rejected. So you must already be prepared before eight, because I don’t want to be late. “ He said and turned around to left.

“ Wait!”. Nasha stopped him and he stopped walking.

“ Why, I mean why did you came home late?” Nasha blushed and felt embarrassed when she asked Spade.

“ is it really needed?”. Spade asked dryly.

“ Well, you are still my husband and I’m still your wife. So it is still needed.”

Nasha said and shared at him confidently.

“ Husband? Wife?” Spade made a mocking smile but he then make it into a formal smile before frowning again.

“ well, I discussed something with Ellen in the office and it took us long to finished so I came home late.” He said and left.

And Nasha’s mind is thinking something different from him. She thought that maybe the two are enjoying the moment together, making out , having sex together, or maybe he wants to marry that Ellen that’s why he discussed something important to that woman, like for example about her and Spade.
