Beta Vlad stands at the doorstep of the Alpha's room, intending to deliver a message revealed by the moon goddess. As he's about to turn the doorknob, he hears muffled voices, recognizing a heated exchange between the Alpha and the Luna. Reluctantly, he retraces his steps back to his abode. The urgency of the message lingers, but he refrains from intruding without permission.
| MIKUMI's POV |
Within the official room, Spartan forcefully pins me to the wall, strangling me with relentless strength. His purr and wicked smile betray a desire for my immediate demise.
"I'm going to dump you into the jungle very soon. You'll meet numerous male wolves from different pack houses. Be picky and choose well, slim goat." He rains curses upon me before storming out, slamming the door with a resounding thud.
"I promise I'm going to get mated again after you go." He hollers. "You would never satisfy my desires as the most renowned Alpha. I need to hunt for a better mate. I reject you as my mate." After uttering these words, he tosses me onto the bed, delivering a fatal leg kick.
Taking deep breaths for twelve seconds, I sit up in bed. My wolf surges to the apex of my neck, and I lose consciousness. Summoning all my energy, I force myself outside. As soon as I'm outdoors, my wolf takes control, and the first person I tackle is the Alpha. My wolf is now instinctively and fiercely against him. Without a clear reason, the Alpha has provoked my wolf, making now the opportune moment to seek revenge.
With a thunderous growl and enraged claws, I charge towards the Alpha, sending him to the ground with relentless growls and howls. As he attempts to shift, I grab him by his right leg and throw him into the clouds. His Personal Betas rush to his aid, but I hold him with one hand, intimidating them. None dares to shift and attack me.
Within moments, they all drop to their knees. I hurl Spartan far away from the pack house, and the warriors attack me. Facing them, I fight against the onslaught. Unless they cease, I'm prepared to kill a few in self-defense.
| ALPHA SPARTAN's POV |
A resounding thud reverberates as I realize I'm the one who landed. I find myself in a strange land surrounded by various pack houses. It's unexpected that my mate would launch an attack; no one believes she possesses more power than I do. Her Alpha Bloodline is likely the source. Initially resistant to mating with me, I forced it, and it unraveled after a few months. The aim now is to find a new mate and reclaim my pack house; she was never the rightful owner.
"Hey idiot, come over," a local man calls rudely. "It's time for hunting."
"I'm not part of you." I retort.
"Evidence?" He retorts, approaching quickly.
"I am Spartan, the Alpha of Crescent Moon Pack. I've come here for a mission." I confidently declare, though the truth is I ended up here unexpectedly.
"What's the mission if I may ask?"
"I'm sure you won't want to know," I reply. "I'm being pursued by some minor pack houses. So let me get my work done on time, please." I walk away and find refuge in a building where a family resides. Hiding behind a wardrobe in a room, I plead with the moon goddess to reveal my mate to me.
"You'll feel a light slash in your heart when you walk past her." She informs me. I feel light-hearted and leave the compound, roaming the streets, and targeting areas where werewolf packs might be abundant. As darkness sets in, it's likely around 8:30 pm. Unsure if wolves in this area sleep or not, I recall the varied habits in my own pack house.
The leaves rustle and dance to the wind's rhythm, my hair following suit. Rain patters on the ground as I take shelter under a large tree. Suddenly, I hear a noise. A wolf is rushing toward her pack house, visible from afar. She either avoids shifting to keep her wolf from getting wet, or she's unable to shift at all. As she approaches my angle, I stand up and cross her path to stop her. When she looks up at me, I'm captivated by her beauty. Without hesitation, I guide her to my back and ask her to lead me to her pack house. She complies, and we reach it together. She discreetly invites me to her room, and we rush inside, closing the door to avoid potential interrogation by the Alpha.
“Thank you for helping me.” She expresses her gratitude.
"It's my pleasure. I'm Spartan," I reply, refraining from disclosing my Alpha status yet.
"I'm Ann," she introduces herself. "I'm the first daughter of this pack house. They call me First Wolf of the pack. What about you?" She asks, smiling. Scratching the back of my neck, torn between breaking my resolution and impressing her with my title, I decide to tell her the truth.
"I am Alpha Spartan, actually." I admit. "I'm the Alpha of Crescent Moon Pack. I'm here on a mission. Nice to meet you."
"Do you have a mate?" She inquires. "Like, do you have a Luna?"
"No, I don't." I respond, realizing the incredulity of a male Alpha without a Luna.
"Oh, alright. Would you like something... maybe cheese, or are you on your way back?" Ann asks.
"Yes, I'm on my way back," I reply, swiftly leaving the room. Ann follows me, making sure no one sees me until I'm out of the pack house. I assume she'll return, but she doesn't.
"I'll follow you to accomplish your mission." She states. My mission is to find my right mate, as revealed by the moon goddess. She suspended me for a while when I mated with a female Alpha, but now that she's released me, she informed me that my true mate is not within my vicinity, leading me to this unexpected location. Lost in my thoughts, I stare at Ann until she taps me, pulling me out of my reverie.
"Aren't you here?" She questions, for the umpteenth time.
"I'm sorry. I was lost in thoughts. But, can I see you?" I ask.
"I'm with you. You can see me already, can't you?" She retorts.
"I mean, not with that kind of voice. I want to interact with you." I clarify, and now she understands.
We calmly converse as we tread down the path that leads to exile.
"Do you have a mate?" It's my turn to ask this question.
"No." She cackles.
"Will you be my mate?" I ask her. Instantly, a tornado of emotions strikes my heart. Regret for not waiting for the right mate, awkwardness for asking her out hastily, and anticipation of being rejected all flood my senses.
"There's no problem. We can be mates in the exile." She responds. Examining her words, it occurs to me that she might not be who she claims to be. Perhaps a runaway wolf, a rogue, or the daughter of abandoned wolves.
I clasp my palm into hers as we walk down into exile, but my intention is to escape. Already, I'm preparing my wolf for a marathon race away from this deceiver I've fallen for. Suddenly, I lose my grip on her and take off running.
She shifts into her wolf swiftly and chases me. I shake my head vigorously as my wolf takes control of my body. With no knowledge of where it will lead me, I hope it's a safe place.
Running through the woods, I glimpse her wolf's reflection, chasing me relentlessly. I gain momentum and manage to leave her behind, and it appears she realizes I've caught onto her intentions.
My wolf guides me higher, seeking a safe haven, but it finds none. Releasing control, I regain my senses and climb a fence, entering the compound of a wealthy man.
