Chapter # 4

I woke up and found myself in the same corner I cried. I didn't even expect to magically wake up on bed as well. I stood up and sniffed. Why do I agree for this? What happened to me? I am such a desperate woman, dying for someone to love her or ignite the sparks of love.

I wish that he'll love me one day. Okay, Not now. But, One day.

I freshen myself and looked at my reflection. Apart from my puffy red eyes, everything is alright. I have decided to wear a knee-length blue dress. As I was getting ready, the door knocked,

"Who is it?" I asked.

"Ma'am, It's Savannah. Sir is waiting for you in the dining hall." My heart stopped. I don't have enough courage to face him. He is waiting for me doesn't matter. My heart still aches because of last night's event.

I sighed. It's my first day, I should go. After protesting my heart, I went to the dining hall.

I saw him sitting in the head of the house chair. His messy form has transformed into his usual Dominating form. Meaning he came to the room last night. Okay, calm down. I looked at him, His elbows are resting on the table while his hands are joined together. He looked so serious. I inhaled and walked towards him,

"Good Morning!" I smiled at him. He looked at me with such seriousness but my smile didn't fade away.

"What happened to your eyes?" He asked referring to my red and puffy eyes.

"Oh..That's Nothing, the result of my own action." I said still smiling.

He put his hands down as the breakfast was served. We began to eat in silence. I opened my mouth to say something but, he spoke first,

"I clearly remembered what happened last night." I choked on my food a little when he said that. I looked at him with wide eyes as he continued,

"Don't give fake consolation to yourself. Everything I said is true. You shouldn't have married me. You're gonna regret your decision" I looked at him in disbelief.

"How can you say such heartbreaking things?" I said in a broken voice. Why this is happening to me?

"Because they are true. Don't expect any kind of love and affection from me." I looked down and bit my cheeks to not to cry. How can he, be that cold? "Why are you doing this? Do you feel good by giving me tears?" I asked.

"I have to. You and I cannot be together."

"Says the person who cannot even stop the marriage." I scoffed. He exhaled his frustration and took a bite.

"Do you remembered what I told you when we first met?" He said. I simply nodded.

"Tell me." He asked in a mocking tone. I grit my teeth and spoke up,

"If we got married. Then, I'm gonna make your life Hell" I repeated his exact words that always made me think that if my choice is right or not.

"Well..." He said as he stood up. My breath hitched when he walked towards me. My grip on the knife and fork tightened. I looked down. He put his hands on either side of me and lean in,

"Don't cry now.." He said as his intense stare pierced my soul. He nuzzles to my neck. His hot breath lingered on my skin giving me eerie dread, "G-Get away." I shuddered, pushing him away with my elbow but to no avail.

"Your life in hell has just started." He said in a low tone. He got away and left. After he left, I cursed myself as a tear rolled down my cheek. Why do I always make wrong choices? I tried to stop my tears but they still rolled down. I took a few deep breaths and wiped my tear as Savannah came,

"What happened Ma'am? Are you alright?" She asked in a concerned tone. I sniffed as I wiped my tears. I forced a smile and said,

"Everything is fine. Just .. I have never been away from my parents." She smiled as she walked closer.

"Is there anything I can do for you?"

"Looking for a Friend?" I smiled at her.

"Anything for you. "She smiled. She seemed nice but I know not every sweet person is sweet. I still remember Emily. How she become a fake friend of mine and broke me.

"Let's go Ma'am. I'll show you around." She offered. I smiled and left with her. Maybe walking around the house help me to calm myself. We stopped in the garden. It was so beautiful. It even has a swing. I smiled as I sat on it. Savannah smiled at me and said,

"Seems like you liked this place, Most of all." I nodded.

"Well Ma'am, I need to go. If I may?"

"Oh yeah, you may. You must have other things to do as well." I said in a soft tone. She bowed a little and left.

I was swinging. The garden was beautiful but, not as beautiful as ours. I decided the flowers and their arrangement in our garden. This garden is maintained but not loved. I smiled sadly at this.

Desmond's words are echoing in my head. I gulped in fear. I am afraid of what he might do to me. But, I am not going to back away. I will make him love me. I will work this marriage out. My determination isn't easy to break. I will feel loved. He is not aware of my weaknesses, I am very pathetic.

As I was walking in the garden I lost the track of time. Savannah came and called me,

"Ma'am! The Dinner's Ready!" What? It's dinner already. Looks like I lost myself in nature too much.

"Coming!" I said as I left for dinner. It 8 pm and Desmond even home yet.

"Where's Desmond?" I asked.

"Ma'am, Sir is in the office."

"He hasn't come yet?"

"No."

"What are his timings?" I need to know when he left and when he came back from work.

"The breakfast was served at 9:30 am. At 10 am Sir leave the house. He came back home from 7 pm to 12 am. All the servants leave for their quarters at 10 pm."

"Why are you serving dinner now? Serve it when he comes home."

"These are Sir's orders that the dinner will be served at 8:00 pm, even in his absence" If he isn't here who would eat?

"Do you serve dinner to in his absence?" I asked resting my chin on my palm.

"Sir issued this order today. That the dinner will be served at 8:00 pm for you." I looked at Savannah with wide eyes.

"For me? What about him?" I asked. This was unexpected from him. He remembers he has a human- obligation to feed now.

"He'll eat later."

"I see. Then, I'll eat with him." I smiled as I got up.

"No Ma'am. Please eat." Savannah said scared.

"Why?"

"These are Sir's order; You'll eat dinner at 8 pm no matter what." I sighed in defeat. Seems like going against him isn't a good idea.

After dinner, I went to our room. My heart beats so fast when I called it 'Our Room'. The moment I entered the room, Lilly; The head Maid knocked,

"Ma'am. Sir is calling for you in his study." She called making my heart stopped. When did he come home? My legs began to tremble as I walked to his office. His words are making me lose my senses. I knocked,

"Come in." His deep voice said.

I walked in. He was leaning on the desk. He stared at me like a Predator look at his prey. My whole being began to tremble in fear. My hairs stood on their edge. They intensity of his looks always drained my energy.

"W-Welcome Home" I stutter in a low tone.

"How was your day?" He asked. Mockery was lingering from his every word. I gulped and met his dire gaze.

"It was fine." Somehow I manage to say without shuddering.

"Oh, Is that so?" He smirked making me immobilized. He took off his coat and threw it on the sofa. He took off his tie as well and rolled up his sleeves. I looked away while blushing. My heart is racing. He then walked towards me and stood in front of me. He looked down at me. He held my chin making me look at him,

"Day hasn't ended yet," He leans in. His intense grey eyes bore into my scared blue ones. He let go of me. I looked at his eyes. His stare is making me terrified. He walked behind me and nuzzle in my neck, his hot breath is intimidating me, I lower my gaze as he continued,

"Let's see if you can say the same word tomorrow?" As soon as these words escaped his lips he grabbed my waist. His other hand grabbed my neck. He inhaled my scent and began to say in a dead-serious tone,

"Listen up Ester. Don't think that I've accepted you as my wife," My breath hitched as tears brimmed in my eyes. His words pierced my heart. He brings me close to him, our bodies met. He put his chin on my shoulder.

"Why?" my voice came out like a vague whisper.

"Why do you marry me, If you don't want to work it out?" I said trying my best not to cry.

"Believe me. If I can, I would have worked it out," that was his only reply. Before I could say anything else, he continued, "So? where was I?" He said in his supreme tone. He brought himself close to me and I shivered in fright.

"If you are living here then, There are rules," he whispered.

"R-Rules?" I shudder in fear. A heavy breath escaped my lips when I hear this.

"Yes." He pulled away and walked towards the table. He leaned on it again. He closed his arms at his chest and began to say in a stern tone,

"First, You'll heed absolute obedience to me.

Second, you are not allowed to disgrace me in any way.

Third, You cannot talk behind my back.

Fourth, you won't tell anyone about how I treat you.

If you break any of these rules, I'll show you my worst side. Got it?" Tears blurred my vision I bit my lips and said weakly, "I am not your slave..."

"I am not even making you one. These are simple rules you have to obey if you want to live peacefully with me." He said nonchalantly.

"I don't think the word peace ever crossed your mind." I said. "Not mine. I am saying it for you." He said. "And what if I broke a rule?" I asked. He took a step closer. He stood in front of me and lifted my chin as my bore into his menacing one. He leaned in as a shiver went down my core, "I'll shall teach you how to obey me." He whispered huskily. My heart stopped beating for a second as great apprehension travelled in my vein. "Understood?" His voice was low but filled with vehement. I gulped and replied with my quivering lips.

"Y-Yes." I want to yell at my misery, the feeling of being powerless in his overwhelming form. An undesirable tear rolled down my tear.

"Good." He said in a dominating tone. I wiped my tear and turned to leave.

"When did I say that you can leave?" His voice shows the authority he has on me. My whole being froze in fear. My mind is filled with fright and the feeling of being vulnerable in his presence. How can he break me such painfully? I curled my hands in a fist for submitting to him but I am terrified and I have no choice.

"Come here." He said. I sniffed and turn around and walked towards him. I looked down with a scowl over my lips. He held my waist and turned me around. I gasped when he pulled me close to him. His hands held me firmly. His scent his embedding a terror in my heart that I have never felt before. Every action of his shows that I am inferior and he is superior. It isn't affectionate at all. It's just simply his dominance and power he has over me.

"You are pathetic. A vulnerable delusional girl. I don't understand what dad saw in you, that he decided to make you my wife.." He said in a venomous tone. His every word broke my heart. Upon hearing it, my heart clenched as I pushed away from him and glared at him, "I know! You don't have to tell me. And ask your dad why he wanted this, don't blame me." I broke into soft sobs while speaking it. "You should have cancelled the marriage!" He yelled. "I tried! Your father assured me to marry you." I yelled back. He grit his teeth and sighed and said,

"If you're gonna cry, Do it somewhere else." His cold voice is killing me.

"You're the worst!" I yelled at him and before he could react I ran out of the room.

I went to the bathroom and cried to myself. It's just the first day of my marriage and he broke my heart in a few moments. How can he be so cold?
