~Avery~
The words from the officer played over and over in my mind for a few seconds. I never did anything to warrant an arrest unless they were trying to pin the blame on me given as I was the only witness there before Scott got injured.
Stephen left my side and walked to the officer who was about to pull out a handcuff.
“Arrest? But on what terms?”
“A complaint was filed against her by the victim's wife. Mrs Brandon. So stand aside Mr Harrison..and let us do our job”
I corked a brow. So this had something to do with Scott's bitch, a subtle grin left my lips. I'm not about to give her the satisfaction she wanted.
Rising up to my feet, I approached the cops and outstretched my hands out to him grinning from ear to ear. I could also tell that he was confused at my behavior but what does he know? This Avery before them was not the same as the one six years ago.
Stephen was alarmed, he barely touched my hand to stop me from whatever I was about to do.
“Avery..what are you doing?”
I winked teasingly at him which was my way of assuring him that I knew what exactly I was doing. Since Ella had chosen to start this war before I could even begin my revenge then she better brace herself up.
“Let me see how long your cell is going to hold me..go on put the cuffs around my wrist”
And like an obedient soul he placed the cuff around my wrist and began leading me away.
“Stephen please ensure that Allison goes to school on time today..and inform her that I'll be on time to pick her up from school too”

The male and female officers standing next to me in the interrogation room banged the desk for the umpteenth time trying to get me to speak.
I don't get why they were hellbent on forcing me to admit what I'm innocent of.
“Speak! Or we will take drastic measures!” Visible veins could be seen popping out of his neck. The poor dude must have gotten fed up of repeating the same line for the last ten minutes.
Until..I decided to speak up.
“Can you guys make this quick? Because I have a ton of work to do at the office as you know it's my first day as the president of my company”
“Shut up!” The male officer roared before taking a step back granting the female officer a chance to interrogate me.
I rolled my eyes checking my wrist watch from time to time. What was taking him so long to arrive?
“You better speak up otherwise I'd-
“I wasn't scared of him ma'am what makes you think that I'd be terrified by your presence?” I questioned hoping she'd give me a response but I doubted because I completely rendered her speechless.
This was all I could do to stall time before my lawyer gets here.
“How dare you-
“Miss Brown..sorry I'm late”
I smirked at the two as soon as I heard the voice I've been hoping to hear for a while. My lawyer was finally here.

Few minutes after my lawyer presented my bail papers and also the CCTV footage of last night to the police, I was finally allowed to leave the station. In am instant, the media surrounded me like headless buzzing bees throwing questions my way.
For all I know, they were everywhere and I wouldn't be surprised if I found out who might have invited them over.
As expected, a black Mercedes Benz rolled up before me. The backdoor was pushed open and the last person I had expected to see stepped out of the car. I didn't miss the shocked expression she had on. She probably didn't expect me to be released as soon as I was arrested.
Her eyes turned vicious while her hands fisted into tight fist balls by her side.
“I won't spare you bitch!”
She marched straight to me and lifted her hand up in an attempt to hit me but who was she kidding? I caught her skinny wrist effortlessly and sent a quick slap to her face.
The slap she received from me wasn't because she tried to hit me. But because of the hardship I had to endure all these years till today because of her.
For a moment, I completely forgot about the media clicking their camera's at me, what I was more focused on was to teach this conniving woman a lesson.
“That is just a reminder to keep yourself in check whenever you cross paths with me. After degrading my name this way, you think I'd go easy on you?”
I took a glance behind me where the camera's were still clicking. Since she was the one who called them over, I was very sure she wouldn't allow this little drama go on air.
I took a step closer to her and leaned next to her ear.
“It's unfortunate that your husband was attacked. But you both should better brace yourself for the worst..”
After I was done whispering to her, I took a step back with a light chuckle. There was so much fear in her eyes or maybe she was still trying to come to terms that I've changed a lot.
