Chapter 2

Jason's POV

I loosened my tie as I sighed in frustration.'How many more s***t do I have to go through today?'

"And who the hell let that b***h in here?" I seethed and looked towards Jace, my assistant.

The hotel is very tight in security and I wondered how she was able to walk her way in. It was also the same hotel where Dad had planned to hold the marriage he had arranged for me with the daughter of his business partner and old-time friend, Robert Steve, CEO of Faze Groups.

The union would make the company's shares skyrocket and both companies flourish.

"I don't know how she managed to get in," Jace said softly, "but you need to calm down. You know you can't make decisions when you're angry. You can't mess this up."

"I'm fucking stressed man. On the one hand, I have to deal with this f****g marriage, and on the other hand, I just have to listen to the s**t that claimed she was pregnant for my child. Could you believe that trash?"

Jace looked at me warily, "Uhm...well," he shrugged, "She ain't the first, but... You did sleep with her."

I rolled my eyes, "She must have had it all planned out. I mean...she knew who I was before..."

A knock sounded on the door, interrupting me. A young man peeked in, "Mr. Jason, it's time for the groom."

Jason heaved a breath and Jace walked up to him in hurried steps, fixing his tie, "Calm down man everything will be fine," he said.

They quickly finished up and stepped out of the room, walking down to the hall where the wedding was set to take place.

****

It was 6 pm as I sat in my study room gently poring over some files. This has been my safe place when I want to avoid the stranger my father has arranged and forced a marriage on us.

As much as I couldn't blame him, it was for a business deal. And the merging of our companies, Sterling Group and Faze Group will make us one of the best in the world.

I understand the importance of business statistics but I detest the fact that I have to live with Alexis Scott, my supposed wife.

Three years of marriage and I haven't touched her once. Weird right? It's a surprise to me too as I naturally love p****y. But I couldn't bring myself to f**k her. Maybe I'd prefer to get off on random women as I don't see her as a woman but as a business property.

I flipped through the files on my desk carefully going through them as the door opened. "Here she is again," I rolled my eyes. I watched her from the corner of my eyes as she stepped into the office and stood in front of the desk.

"So this is what you do," She folds her arms across her chest.

I looked up at her. She was clad in a transparent night robe... obviously to seduce me again. I immediately averted my eyes and flipped through the files, feigning noninterest.

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, even though I already knew what she meant.

"It's been months, Jason. Are you bent on not having anything to do with me? You know how badly I want a child."

That's all she cares about. A child. But I couldn't care less. She's looking for a way to make me committed to this marriage.

I ignored her and she continued, "We don't have a child yet because you practically spend all your time in this office, running away from your duties!"

I stared at her incredulously, "And what duties, if I may ask? I married you right? Isn't that enough? You seem to be forgetting that this is a marriage based on business purposes. Other than that, I'm not obligated to fulfill any of your so-called desires!"

She bit her lips, "this isn't what I bargained for."

I shrugged, "Don't blame me, blame your father who sold you off."

She frowned and moved closer to me. I knew I had hit a button. Aside from the main reason we got married, I had known Alexis had harbored a crush on me already. How it happened I didn't know.

But she smiled sweetly, masking her emotions, "And you?" She asked, "What happened? I could tell you hardly keep your d**k in your pants... Don't I look attractive to you?"

I ignored her and was taken aback when she swatted the files on my desk and they flew all over the room.

"I'm not one to be messed with Jason. I deserve every respect I should get in this marriage and I expect you to fully understand the importance of this marriage and do your f****g duty!" She fumed as she stormed out of the office.

I clenched my fists as rage surged through me. My blood boiling at her audacity. No one does that to me. No one even dares talk back at me and this woman suddenly feels like she has the right just because we're married?

I stood up and picked up the files scattered all over when a picture caught my attention. It was sticking out of a file and I wondered how it got there.

I took it out and stared at it in sheer longing, "Haze," I murmured staring at the picture of the ten-year-old girl I'd had a crush on.

I picked up my phone and called Jace my assistant and confidant.

"Any information about her yet?"

"You mean..."

"Yes"

I heard him sigh over the phone. Jace has been the one helping me to track her whereabouts. Ever since she dropped out of school. I haven't set my eyes on her. I could remember then as a little boy pleading with my dad to hire a private detective to search for her. But Dad kept insisting that it was of no use.

But as soon as I grew up and understood how it worked, I began a search for her but always arrived at a dead end.

"Haze...where in the world are you?"
