9. Lily Pushed You

On a Monday morning, Lily watched as her kids got taken away in a sport car with a police escort trailing after the sport car. Now everyone in her children's school would know that her children are for a billionaire once they see them . Not like she care though but she didn't want the teachers of her children to give them any special treatment just because they think they are children of some powerful people.

Lily went back inside to finish dressing in a bit to start going to work. Once she was done, she walked elegantly out of her room. Her room was upstairs and there was a small buglary that serves as a protector before the corridor. She began to walk through the corridor, just when she was about getting to the stairs that leads down to the living room, she saw someone rush towards her.

"You!" The woman screamed. "Don't even think of seducing my son. It's advisable to focus strictly on the business going on between you two. I already have someone he's going to marry."

Lily was unaware that the woman was mentally unstable, hence, she felt like the woman was being unnecessarily rude to her. Nonetheless, she decided to be respectful to her since she was Drake Bell's mother and was old enough to be her mother.

"Okay, ma." She said simply.

Drake Bell's mother, Lucinda wasn't expecting such a calm response so she gritted her teeth and was wordless.

"I should take my leave now," just when Lily was about to turn, someone appeared from the main front door. This person was Amelia. She began to walk towards them.

As soon as Lucinda saw her, she shouted merrily, "Amelia..."

"Mum..." Amelia climbed the step hurriedly and went to hug her. Both women hugged themselves dearly after which they disengaged.

"Mom, I was so happy when I heard that you are back to the city," Amelia said happily. It was as though Amelia had known Lucinda for ages.

"Come, let's have some fun inside," Lucinda said, the expression on her face was so bright unlike a few minutes ago when Amelia hasn't showed up.

Amelia however looked at Lily and greeted with a fake smile, "Hey Lily, how are you?"

"I'm fine." Lily answered. She couldn't help but wonder what sort of relationship must have subsisted between Drake Bell's mom and Amelia.

Lily wasn't expecting to meet Lily here at all. She knew Lily had her own house, she couldn't help but wonder what Lily could be doing here, expecially seeing that she's standing with Drake Bell's mom.

"You know her?" Lucinda asked surprisingly.

"Yes, mom. She's the designer sent from Yenny Designs to work in corporation with Bell's LTD." Amelia explained.

"Now I see why she opt to live here," Lucinda said, still looking at Lily maliciously.

"She's living here?" said asked in a questioning tone.

"Of course." Lucinda answered with a nod of her head.

Amelia furrowed her brow in shock. What could have suddenly transpired between Drake Bell and Lily that made Drake Bell allow her to come and stay here. Amelia immediately feel threatened and at once, knew that she had to do something.

"Lily, don't you have shame? How can you come back to live here? Didn't Drake Bell divorce you six years ago yet you are back into his life again, to ruin it again like you did then, right?" Amelia asked.

"Amelia, what nonsense are you talking about? If you don't understand why I suddenly started to live here, you better keep quiet or ask from Drake Bell," Lily said and checked her wrist watch. She was already getting late for work.

Amelia should have also gone to work directly but she had decided to branch to see Lucinda before eventually heading to work. Afterall, Amelia and Lily works in Drake Bell's company only that Amelia was working under Drake Bell while Lily was working as a partner.

Amelia turned her face to Lucinda and said, "Mum, this woman and Drake Bell were once married but she cheated on him so Drake Bell had to divorce him and now, she had suddenly barged into his life again."

Lucinda became enraged that she lost her unstable mind and grabbed Lily by her collar, "you bitch, you want to ruin my son's life again, right?" She screamed in rage and shook Lily aggressively.

Lily gritted her teeth angrily. How dare Amelia tell such lies on her? She held Lucinda's hand and wanted to gently take it off her cloth but Amelia immediately walked over and nudged Lucinda with her body. It was at that same moment that Lily was able to take off Lucinda's hand from her cloth.

The intentional nudge from Amelia made 'angry Lucinda' loose balance and fell from the top of the stairs. Lucinda let out a loud and painful scream as she rolled down the steepy and tiled stairs.

"Lily, what have you done?" Amelia screamed atop of her voice and immediately rushed down the stairs to aid Lucinda who had already lost consciousness.

Someone else appeared on top of the stairs and was shocked to see the horrible sight before him. This person was Drake Bell. He had just finished dressing up as well and was about heading to a meeting when he suddenly heard screams.

"Mom?" He rushed down the stairs and seeing that his mom was unconscious. His mind flew a thousand miles away. Nothing must happen to his mother, he loved her so much. He had already lost his father and all his family, just his mother is left. He immediately called an ambulance and while waiting for the ambulance, he tried to aid his mum to wake but she wouldn't.

Soon, the ambulance men appeared and rushed inside the house, at once, they carried Lucinda out.

Drake Bell's heart ached as he hoped in his heart that his mom would survive. Standing straight now, he looked at Amelia who had tears all over her face and asked, "what happened to my mom?"

"She pushed her," Amelia pointed to Lily who had also stepped down the stairs to aid Lucinda.

"I didn't. Amelia, stop with the lies and deceit. I only took her hands off my clothes," Lily said. She also had no idea how Lucinda fell, Lily didn't see when Amelia nudged Lucinda.

"What are you even doing here?" Drake Bell asked Amelia and checked his wrist watch, "aren't you supposed to be at work now?"

"Drake..." She called with a soft voice, "when I heard that your mom came back, I couldn't contain my joy, I just couldn't wait to see her that was why I decided to pay her a visit before going to work."

"If anything happens to my mom, the both of you would answer for it," Drake Bell threatened and walked away from the two women.

"What do you stand to gain from the lies?" Lily asked Amelia with a frown. Shooting her a disgusting look.

"What I stand to gain, huh?" Amelia scoffed. "My mum had already given you the chance to leave New York but you refused. She explained to you how desperate I am to have Drake Bell yet you ignored and even dared to come to live with him," Amelia said. "You have me to contend with now, Lily and I promise you that as long as you stay in New York, your days will be hell."

"You are too small to threaten me, Amelia. You should watch your back cause any attempt you make to get to me will always land on you." Lily said and added immediately, "excuse me." Then she walked away from her.

At the hospital, Drake Bell walked inside the hospital alongside his two assistants, Liam and Sarah. This was three hours after Lucinda had been in the intensive care unit, receiving urgent treatment.

On getting to the office of the doctor in charge of Lucinda, the doctor immediately stood from his seat in honor of Drake Bell. "Mr. Drake Bell, you are welcome, sir." He quickly continued, "she's alive but she had sustained a serious injury in the back, I'm sorry to say this but she may not be able to walk again."

Drake Bell's eyes furrowed in shock, "Is there not anything you can do?"

"No, sir. Her spinal cord is broken beyond repair. She will be confined to wheelchair henceforth, sir." The doctor replied.

Drake Bell looked away with a sorrowful heart. Whoever it is that causes this misfortune to his mother will definitely pay. Afterwards, Drake Bell left the doctor's office with his assistants.

He was able to see Lucinda after twenty five minutes, standing by Lucinda's bed, he said, "mom, I'm so sorry this happened to you."

Lucinda held her hand and asked, "is it true that I won't be able to walk again?"

Drake Bell took a while before he nod slowly. The woman bursted into tears on confirming her misfortune.

"That business partner of yours has now made my life more miserable," Lucinda cried more.

"Lily?"

"She pushed me cause I rough handled her clothes." She cried bitterly.

"Lily pushed you!" He exclaimed in rage but Lucinda only continued crying.
