7. Alpha Kaden's Torture
.
.
.
I feel myself falling, the world spinning before my eyes, and then I feel nothing. I succumb to the darkness, embracing it like a mother embraces her child, until I feel nothing.
My head feels heavy as I try to open my eyes. The light from the light bulb shines brightly into my eyes, causing a sharp pain in the front of my head. It takes a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to the light, and when they do, it almost feels like they're going to pop out of their sockets.
How did I end up back here? Why am I lying on my bed in Diana's house? Who brought me here? I calm myself down and try to piece everything together. My brain isn't working as fast as I would like, but I patiently wait for the pieces to form.
I remember being by the river, where I had decided to take a rest for a few minutes before continuing my run. It was a big mistake on my part, one that I now realize. If I hadn't stopped, I might not have been caught by Alpha Kaden.
Alpha Kaden! My mind screams. The growls in the bushes, the wolf that scared me, the wolf that turned out to be my mate. The moon goddess is definitely punishing me. It seems that my destiny is to die at the hands of the one who was supposed to be my eternal love. I can't see any other way out of this situation that I've been forced into.
He must be disappointed and outraged. He does not deserve this kind of pain after everything that has happened. Was the moon goddess also against him by pairing him with the daughter of the man who had killed his first mate? Is it even possible to have second chance mates? Could my father have found a second chance mate instead of going mad? How is any of this even possible?
This isn't a bond. I'm simply Alpha Kaden's torture, and he is mine as well. Did he bring me back to the pack when I fainted? I would have preferred if he had left me to die instead of bringing me back here. Or maybe this was his plan all along. Did he bring me back just so I could be killed by my pack members? Alpha Samuel definitely wouldn't show mercy this time, and Diana wouldn't be able to save me. Sean would make sure he gets his way with me before I'm sentenced to death.
In my twisted thinking, I'm actually happy. It will finally end—this life, this suffering—and I'll be with my parents wherever they are.
I will be strong. I will face death with a smile and a content heart. The sound of the bedroom door makes me sit up in bed and I hold my blanket tightly. But the person who enters the room completely surprises me. He is the last person I would expect to see me at this point.
"Williams !" I gasped in confusion, what could he be doing here?, I thought I did not exist to him.
He entered the room and locked the door behind him.
"What are you doing here? What do you want?" I asked, but he only eyed me and his eyes roamed my body pervertedly, making me feel uncomfortable.
"I can't believe you're not my mate," he finally spoke up, and my confusion grew alongside my discomfort.
"I don't understand," I voiced out, trying my best for my voice not to come out shaky. Williams was acting strange, and I wouldn't show him that I'm afraid of him.
"You do! You belong to me!" he screamed violently, and I hugged the blankets even tighter.
"Williams! What is this? Have you gone mad?" I questioned. Williams has always been a level-headed man, and everyone praised him for his ability to keep his feelings in check since he was able to transform into his wolf. The Williams before me was nothing like the one I grew up with. He wasn't the mature young boy I had crushed on for years.
He laughed hysterically like a true madman and then stopped abruptly before saying in a too-calm voice, "Don't act like a saint. I know you were disappointed to discover that you weren't my mate the moment you walked into the dining hall to serve the pack. I know about the crush you had for me."
"Had. Had for you, not anymore," I corrected. Whatever feelings I thought I had for Williams were all gone, reduced to nothing but ashes.
"You think because you're going to be mates with Alpha Kaden, you think you stop belonging to me! Lies!"
"Get out!" I screamed.
"He hates you, you know, you—the daughter of a monster. He would never accept you, but I will," he smiled cockily.
"You are the monster. He would never accept me, but I refuse to belong to you. I belong to no one but myself," I declared. I was surprised at the confidence I had to stand my ground against Williams.
He smirks and says, "I thought by now you would be more submissive. I expected Sean to have done his work diligently."
"W-what?" I stammered, my face completely drained of color.
Williams laughs and before I could say anything, he forcefully rips the blanket from my body and climbs on top of me. I try to push him off, but I'm not strong enough. He's an Alpha, a complete wolf, while I am not. I struggle with the little strength I have left. He forcefully kisses me, and he tears open my blouse and bra, exposing my breasts.
"No, William, don't do this!" I cry, still struggling, but he ignores my pleas.
"I have waited so long for you to deny me," he says as he aggressively slaps me across the face. My head immediately becomes light, and it feels like I'm going to faint.
"No!" I weakly cry out. By this time, my pants are already off. He roughly penetrates me with his fingers, causing me immense pain as he moves rapidly and violently.
"Sean was right, you are tight, so beautiful," he says as he adds more fingers, while I scream. My screams must have become loud enough that he covers my mouth with his hand. He removes his hands from inside me and proceeds to remove his trousers, still holding me down so I can't escape. I see his genitals, and my eyes widen. I don't want this. I want death, but not this kind of pain before I die. I wanted to leave this world with my dignity intact, the only thing I've been able to keep all these years.
"Please, Williams," I beg as tears stream down my face. Just as I feel his genitals at the entrance, the door suddenly opens, falling to the ground, and an angry, half-transformed wolf emerges, throwing William away from me.
"How dare you?" Alpha Kaden growls, shaking violently.
"She seduced me, Alpha," William defends himself. My heart drops, and I manage to find the blanket to cover my naked body.
Kaden turns his gaze towards me so quickly that I fear his neck might break. His eyes scrutinize mine as if searching for the truth, and after a few moments, his eyes snap back towards Williams. "She doesn't look like she's consenting. This female belongs to me!" he declares.
She planned it all, Alpha Kaden. What can we expect from the daughter of a rapist?" William was trying to find a way out by blaming me. I looked at Kaden; it seemed like he was fighting against his wolf. If I were to be a worthy mate, Kaden wouldn't have hesitated to rip off William's head the moment he broke down the door.
I was about to say something, but before I could, Alpha Samuel, Luna Tamara, and Diana entered the room. Alpha Samuel demanded an explanation for what was happening. William cowardly hid behind his father's body, revealing a character I had never seen in him all these years.
Feeling embarrassed by the situation, I wrapped the blanket around my body even tighter.
"Anna, what's going on?" Diana asked, looking at me with concern and confusion.
"William tried to forcefully take me," I confessed.
"Lies! You whore!" William screamed.
"What?" Diana's eyes widened in surprise. She stared into my eyes as if searching for the truth. My eyes glistened with tears, and my heart broke as I sank deeper into darkness.
"Alpha Samuel, your son tried to rape my mate," Kaden spoke coldly. He seemed to have regained control over his wolf and appeared completely human again.
"I won't accept such accusations against my son, especially from someone of questionable character. She is the daughter of a rapist, for goodness' sake!" Alpha Samuel strongly stated, with Luna nodding in agreement.
"I am not lying!" I cried desperately.
"Shut up, you devil's spawn!" Luna Tamara screamed. I was completely shaken. I looked to Diana for support, but she was already crying and immediately walked out of the room, leaving me alone to face my fate.
"Alpha Kaden, this shouldn't create a rift between us, especially from a member of the same family. You wanted to reject her anyway," Alpha Samuel said. I immediately turned to Kaden, knowing that he would reject me, but a small part of me still hoped he wouldn't.
"Don't tell me what to do," Kaden said through gritted teeth. "I'm leaving now with her, but the next time I see Williams, I won't hesitate to rip him apart. This world shouldn't be a place for rapists and madmen who take advantage of innocent women," he added. I knew his last statement was directed more at my father, and it was meant to hurt me, which he succeeded in doing.

The day had finally brightened, and the sun was up. I could finally see how disorganized the entire field was where the mate dance ceremony was held. I felt sorry for whoever would be tasked with cleaning it up. The dirty surroundings didn't seem to bother the pack members; instead, they seemed fascinated by me. They stared and whispered among themselves while I sat quietly in the front passenger seat of Kaden's truck. I kept my head down, waiting silently and trying not to think about the many eyes focused on me.
"Anna!" a familiar voice called. I lifted my head to see Diana running towards me. I lowered the car window.
"I believe you," she said as she reached the truck. "I'm sorry for what my brother did or tried to do to you," she cried.
"Thank you for still believing me despite everything," I smiled at her as I wiped away her tears. "This is my fate, Diana," I told her.
"But you don't deserve this fate. Maybe Alpha Kaden could give you happiness," she said. I weakly smiled at her. Kaden would never bring me happiness, and I wouldn't bring it to him either.
"Did you find your mate?" I asked, trying to change the topic. I was also curious. Diana was a good-hearted person, and she deserved happiness.
"Yes! He's the Alpha of a pack deep in the south. His name is Jacob," she beamed excitedly.
"That's great, Diana. Go and be happy. I'll never forget you, Diana," I smiled at her.
"And I won't forget you, Anna. I'll visit you once I'm sure you're settled," Diana replied.
"Okay," I simply said, not to discourage her from coming, but I feared that time would never come. It would take a miracle for Kaden and his pack to accept me due to my origins.
"Take care of yourself, Anna," Diana said as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.
"And you too," I responded. With that, Diana turned and began walking back to her house. By this time, Kaden was already coming over to the car. He entered without even acknowledging my presence, strapped himself in, and zoomed off, while I contemplated the impending doom that awaited me in the Blood Sun pack.
