Chapter 6: A VIP Gold Card

“Leaving already? Why did you even come to the shop if you don’t have any money?” Carla’s loud laugh filled the shop, and even the store assistant gave Bianca a disapproving look in secret.

Bianca clenched her teeth, but she didn’t want to argue with someone as unreasonable as Carla. She turned to leave, but Dave unexpectedly pulled her back into the shop.

“Mr. Evans?” Bianca looked at him in confusion, her eyes wide with surprise.

“It’s true I don’t have a lot of money with me, but someone gave me a special card just for this mall. Maybe it works here.”

As he talked, he pulled out a shiny gold card from his pocket.

‘What the heck?! How could that be?!’

Carla’s eyes widened in shock. That card was the top VIP card for the mall. They said the person who owned it had to spend at least five million dollars here every year. ‘This man, dressed in such worn-out clothes, didn’t seem rich at all. How could he have that card?!’

Bianca also saw the card Dave was holding. Surprised, she asked quietly, “Mr. Evans, is this card for real?”

Dave couldn’t help but let out a small laugh. It was the first time someone had doubted his card.

He leaned in and whispered in her ear, “It’s not real. I’m just pretending.”

Hearing that, Bianca felt relieved. “Whew, you scared me.”

It made sense that he didn’t actually have a real Supreme VIP Card. After all, why would a wealthy guy sign up to be a boyfriend-for-hire anyway?

Still, she couldn’t stop staring at the golden card, which seemed just like a real, pure gold card. She couldn’t help but say, “I have to admit, that card looks real.”

Carla didn’t hear their quiet conversation. She stood there, shocked and frozen.

Seeing the card in Dave’s hand, all the shop assistants hurried over eagerly.

“Ma’am, sir, this way, please!”

The assistants, who had been around Carla before, rushed over to Bianca and Dave, leading them to sit on a sofa. They served them coffee attentively, completely ignoring Carla, who was still standing in the shop!

Carla felt angry and frustrated as she realized her bank card only had a hundred thousand dollars, which was nothing compared to the Supreme VIP Card.

‘Why did Bianca always have such good luck?’

Carla suddenly regretted being mean to Bianca earlier. Maybe she could have borrowed the Supreme VIP Card from her. Those fancy stores hardly ever gave discounts, but with that card, she could get 30% off anything in the mall!

Feeling annoyed and embarrassed, Carla slipped away while nobody was looking.

Seeing Carla leave, Bianca awkwardly told the shop assistants, “Sorry, we were just passing by. We don’t plan on buying anything.”

“It’s okay,” the shop assistants said, still being helpful. “Feel free to look around. If you need anything, just let us know.”

Feeling guilty, Bianca nodded and stood up with Dave. All she wanted now was to leave as quickly as possible, before anyone found out that the card was fake.

Just as they were about to leave, a man with a lottery box blocked their way. He bowed respectfully to Dave and introduced himself as the shop manager. “Hello, I’m the manager here. We’re having a raffle today, and all our customers are welcome to join.”

He held the box out to Bianca as he spoke.

A raffle in a fancy store? Bianca had never heard of such a thing before. She looked at Dave, puzzled, and he nodded at her to go along with it.

In the end, Bianca decided to participate. She reached into the box, grabbed a folded paper, and handed it to the manager.

“Oh, wow! You’ve won the grand prize! Congratulations! You get a free voucher to shop here!”

Bianca couldn’t believe it. She’d never won a raffle before, and now she won the grand prize. Was this real or just a dream?

“Miss, you can choose anything you want from our store,” the shop manager said with a big smile.

It took Bianca a moment to snap out of her daze. Without hesitating, she looked at the evening dress she’d been eyeing.

“It’s perfect for an engagement party,” Dave said, joining her and admiring the pure white dress.

Bianca nodded and asked the shop manager, “Can I have that one?”

The shop manager looked where she was pointing and grinned even wider. “You have great taste. That dress is from our newest collection, and it’s priced at $560,000.”

“What?! That’s so expensive?!” Bianca knew it would be pricey, but she didn’t expect it to be that much! Feeling embarrassed, she weakly suggested, “Maybe I should choose something else?”

“Why? Just get that one. I think it looks good. What do you think, sir?” Dave suddenly turned to the manager.

The manager broke into a sweat instantly. He quickly reassured Bianca, “Of course you can have it! You won the grand prize!”

And so Bianca and Dave left the mall with several shopping bags in hand.

As Bianca and Dave walked together, Bianca couldn’t help but smile, thinking about her recent stroke of luck. She glanced up at Dave with admiration. “Mr. Evans, I don’t know why, but I feel like my luck changed for the better after meeting you.”

Dave stopped walking and looked down at her. Their eyes met, and for a moment, his heart skipped a beat.

In the sunset, his eyes looked deep and gentle, and his usually serious face seemed softer.

“Are you trying to tell me you want to be with me?”

His eyes were as beautiful and mysterious as obsidian, and Bianca blushed at his words. She looked down, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, but Dave noticed her ear turning red.

The simple gesture reminded him of the day Bianca hugged him tightly in the dim hotel room. That night, with her faint floral scent around him, she had asked him if he was handsome in a soft voice. She had been so bold then, even initiating a kiss. ‘So why was she acting shy now?’

Suddenly, Bianca laughed. “Since you’re so sure I want to be with you, can I treat you to dinner tonight?”

Before Dave could reply, his phone rang, cutting off their conversation.

“Sorry, I have to take this,” he said.

Dave walked away to answer the call.

“Hello, Mr. Evans, the video conference is starting soon.”

“Got it.”
