Dad came into my room and sat down on Deborah's bed.
“Sophia, you have done it again.” Dad said looking at me angrily.
I folded my hands together, looking at him.
“Dad, I'm sorry.” I said to Dad, who continued looking at me.
I turned my gaze to the ground as Dad didn't say anything in response to my Plead.
Dad stood up from where he was sitting.
“Do prepare for next week.” Dad said to me.
“You're also in support of Uncle Bob coming, Dad?” I asked my father.
“Yes I am, and I hope he will be able to help you.”Dad said, and I couldn't do anything but stamp my feet on the ground.
“By the way I would be traveling back in the morning tomorrow.” Dad said before leaving the room and I looked at the door as my Dad left.
I continued staring at the door and rose from my bed and ran towards the door. I shut the door close before returning to my bed. I sat on my bed and shut my eyes. I started thinking of what was going to happen to me as I won't be going to school the next day. I later cried until I slept off. I woke up in the middle of the night with hunger as my stomach was making sound. I opened my room door and walked into the kitchen then took out some noddles which I later prepared and ate. I looked around to be sure that no one was watching me. My eyes met with some Cake and Snacks which were by the side on various plates which I guess was what my mom was baking before we came back home the last day. I walked over to the place the cakes and snacks were kept and dished out some into a plate. I quietly ate the snacks and cake I had dished into the plate, then washed the plates when I was done eating and drank some water before heading back to my room.
I locked my room door immediately I got into the room, then switched on the room light and looked at the wall. I walked to my cupboard and opened a drawer in it. I removed all the materials in the drawer and picked up a book smiling. I went to my bed and laid on it. I started reading the book. The book was based on danger. I read the book for an hour before switching off the room light then laid back on my bed. I closed my eyes and slept. I woke up an hour later and rose as I walked towards the door and opened it to look outside. I walked out to the sitting room and met my Dad seatd on the Sofa.
“Good morning Dad.” I greeted my Dad. Dad looked at me with a wide smile.
“Good morning Sophia.” Dad said, replying my greeting then stood up from the Sofa.
Five minutes later, Mom walked out of her room to the sitting room and hugged Dad.
“I'm going to miss you.” Mom said as she gave Dad a peck on his lip.
I stood still watching their romantic display.
“Good morning Mom.” I said making Mom look at me.
“Good morning Sophia.” Mom said, nodding her head as she looked at me.
Mom looked at Dad who nodded his head looking at her.
“Today we would be going to the Church.” Mom said looking at me and I opened my mouth smiling.
“You and Dad?” I asked Mom and she smiled shaking her head.
“No, your Dad is traveling back.” Mom said then looked into my eyes.
“We are going to the Church, Sophia. You and I would be going to the Church today.” Mom said and I opened my mouth shocked.
“What do they do in Church?” I asked Mom.
“Most people I know say that they go to Church to meet their maker. Who is my maker?” Mom and Dad smiled looking at me.
“You haven't been to a Church before, but Deborah has been to one so you can ask her.” Mom said.
“We've reaffirmed our faith.” Dad said smiling as he pulled Mom into a hug.
“Why do you mean?” I asked after thinking of what they meant, but they had gone before I could speak up.
Minutes later, Deborah walked out of the room which she now shares with Rose and took her sit on a Sofa.
“Aren't you going to school today?” I asked her and she looked away from me.
“No.” She answered.
“But, Why?” I asked her as she stood up from the Sofa and wipe her face with her handkerchief.
“They won't want to accept us back.” Deborah said making me confused.
“Why won't they?, They only have a thing against me.” I said.
“They won't like to be associated with the family of a murderer.” Deborah said.
It then dawned on me the impact of my action on my family as I pitied my sisters. I felt sorry for Rose, who was still young.
“I'm sorry.” I said to Deborah with tears in my eyes.
“Sorry won't help us.” Rose said as she walked to Deborah's side.
I looked at Rose who looked away from me immediately.
“So what about your education?” I asked, looking at the both of them.
“Mom wants to enroll us in another school, but you can only continue your education if you yield to treatment.” Rose said to me with anger.
“Okay.” I said as I sniffled.
“Remember we would be having three visitors in the coming week. Our beloved brother and his fiancé and also our lovely uncle.” Deborah said, and I sighed, immediately she said Our lovely Uncle.
“Okay.” I said.
“Alright you have to behave yourself.” Rose said and I nodded my head.
“I guess Mom told you that you will be going with her to the Church?” Deborah asked.
“Yes.” I answered. “What do we do in Church?”
“We Pray.” Deborah answered.
“I heard we go to Church to meet our maker.” I said and Deborah nodded her head.
“Who is my maker?” I asked.
“God.” Deborah answered.
“Who is your maker?” I asked looking at Deborah.
“God makes everyone.” She answered.
“I want to go to Church to meet my maker.” Rose said happily.
“I don't think I will be going to meet my Maker.” I said to Deborah who looked at me and shocked her head as she smiled.
“Why don't you want to?” Deborah asked me.
“My maker is a murderer for making me like this.” I said amidst tears.
“God is not a murderer, he loves you.” Deborah said, and I stood up from the Sofa I was sitting on and ran to my room.
