Chapter 5: A shameful act

ROSEANNE'S POV

I got to the hospital as fast as I could. Clara didn't say much on the phone. What could be the problem? Was it Luca?

"Do you need me to follow you or you'll sort it out?" Aryan said as he drifted to the driveway.

"Thanks for your concern, Aryan. I'll sort it on my own," I smiled and alighted, then bolted off to the main building.

I saw my aunt holding Clara by the hair and raining insults on her outside Luca's ward while nurses calmed her down and begged her to leave Clara. I ran there to drag her away from my best friend before she hurt her.

"Roseanne?! This is who you've been hanging out with? A lady who sold herself to Asher Miller? Have you no shame?" She ranted, and I raised my hand to slap her.

"You hit me? You bitch! You lost your parents but that wasn't enough. You lost your manners too!" She screamed and made her way to slap me, but someone held her hand in the air.

"We received orders to ensure she doesn't get hurt. If you don't stop this instance, we'll be forced to take legal action," a man said in a deep voice.

"Oh," my aunt said.

"I see how it is. Did you sell yourself too? To whom? Evan Radish? Alec Novikov? Aryan Alvarez?" She spat, and I looked up at her.

"Roseanne, you're nothing. And you'll always be nothing. Don't be delusional honey," she said, and the men in black dragged her away from the building while she screamed.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry this happened, Clara." I went to her and patted her.

"I'm sorry, honey, I really am," I whispered, patting her.

"We're here on Mister Alvarez's order, we'll keep an eye on the patient, now. You can leave,"

"Okay, thank you," I said and checked my phone to see a message from Aryan.

"This is your way of sorting it Out? I hope you're safe," the message read, and I smiled. Was he worried about me?

"Clara, I moved in with Aryan already. I have to go, will you be fine?" I asked.

"I'm fine. I understand... You can go. Just let me know when you get home. Take care." We said our goodbyes and parted ways.

"Alvarez's Villa," I said as I hailed a taxi and entered.

"We're here, ma'am," the driver said after a long drive. I thanked and paid him, then went in.

"Welcome, ma'am," the maids greeted, and I responded as I passed them.

I got into our room to realize Aryan wasn't in, and disappointment kicked in. Where was he?

I changed into my night dress and went to sleep, the thought of where Aryan could be on my mind as I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up, startled to see the room still empty as it was the previous night. I sighed and went to the bathroom to clean up. I came out only to see that it was past twelve. Oh my! Did I sleep that much? Wouldn't Victor criticize me or see me as the lazy type?

I left my room and got greetings as usual, which I responded to while Victor sat on a sofa with a magazine in his hand.

"Good morning, Victor," I greeted warmly and went to sit by his side.

"Oh, beautiful morning, Roseanne. I hope you slept well?" Victor smiled, dropped the magazine, and then looked at me.

"I did. I trust you did too? You're looking as dashing as ever this morning! What's your trick?" I complimented him, and he laughed out loud.

Elders liked being complimented regularly.

"Oh stop this flattery of yours. Have you eaten?"

"I haven't," I responded.

"Great! Go pack lunch for yourself and Aryan. He skips it a lot!" He demanded, and I got up immediately.

"Sure. Have a nice day," I smiled and went to the kitchen.

I packed some sushi and other side dishes in a bag. The maids offered to help, but I told them off jokingly, and they resumed work.

I exited the mansion and saw a man walk to me.

"Good afternoon ma'am, I'm Simon, your personal driver."

"Oh, pleased to meet you, Simon!" I extended my hand for a handshake as courtesy demands, and he took it, not for long, though.

"I assume you're going out, ma'am?"

"Oh yeah, I am. I'm going to Two A's Company," I said, and he rushed to open the door.

"Thank you,"

"My pleasure, ma'am," he responded and drove off.

I looked out to admire the thick trees and other mansions in the estate. It almost looked as if no one occupied it.

The drive was dry and dull as Simon gave me short responses. I understood, though, that we were not of the same class.

"We're here, ma'am. Is there anywhere you'd like to go?" Simon asked.

"No, I'll be back soon. Thanks," I alighted and went into the building, greetings from each side.

"I'm here to see Aryan," I said to the receptionist, and she directed the way to me.

I went up the VIP elevator, and when I got to his entrance, I saw someone seated in his office from afar. His door was a glass see-through, so nothing secretive could be done there. She was dolled up with exposing clothes, and instantly, I felt under-dressed.

I waited outside, contemplating whether to go in or leave since he had a guest.

Aryan came out from a subchamber in his office, and the lady jumped on him immediately. What the hell?! It made me boil instantly.

His eyes widened, and when he saw me, he pushed her away instantly. I went in like I saw nothing and dropped the bag on his table.

"Lunch," I simply said and made to excuse myself, but Aryan held me by my wrist.

When I struggled to break free from his grip, Kent came in and looked shocked to see the lady.

"I'm sorry, who are you?" The lady asked and scanned me up from head to toe.
